Sarah recorded her first solo album ‘You Were Here’ in 2000. Her debut was lovingly received and led to extensive touring. Over the next three album releases she received and Polaris and Juno nominations, and two Juno awards for All Of Our Names (2004) album and Escarpment Blues (2006) tour documentary
In 2005 Sarah helped form citizen group PERL (Protecting Escarpment Rural Land) to raise awareness about the devastation of quarries to the Niagara Escarpment , the UNESCO World Biosphere in southern Ontario where she grew up. For 8 years PERL worked tirelessly to see that the ecosystems and water sources were protected from new mining proposals. In 2012 an application for a large quarry on Mount Nemo in the heart of the escarpment was denied.
Through music and active engagement Sarah has learned the power of community and song. She is currently writing songs for a new album and performing a few shows in Canada with her band.
