The Kubasonics are arguably Newfoundland’s finest Ukrainian band. Their trademark sound combines top-flight musicianship spiced with quirky humour, a dizzying array of exotic traditional instruments, and an eclectic high-energy stage show. Winners of MusicNL Awards for Group of the Year, Folk/Roots Artist of the Year, Entertainer of the Year, they have performed in Trinidad and toured Eastern Europe, with concerts in Ukraine, Poland, Slovakia and Romania. They were named “Best Band to See Live” in Newfoundland, and their CD “Kubfunland” made the short list for the 2017 Borealis Music Award. Their 2018 Tour took them across Canada with appearances at festivals, including Stanfest, Mariposa, Kingsville, Summerfolk, Deep Roots and Newfoundland and Labrador Folk Festivals along with club and theatre shows where they delighted audiences and won new fans.
