A Few Tunes hosted by Amy Collyer-Holmes

Just a little tune session in the Ship folks! Come out to your local pub for some locally brewed beverages with a backdrop of live traditional tunes humming away in the corner.


Folk Night at the Ship presents songs, stories and tune sessions from the finest Newfoundland artists every Wednesday night! Cover is only $5 (suggested donation) and the shows start at 9 pm sharp, guaranteed!


The Ship is at less than half capacity and is doing all the safety protocols right so feel free to pop out for a casual hour or two and enjoy a bit of live music. Patrons and participants are reminded to adhere to current health guidelines to mask and distance from those not in your “Steady 20”. Consult Level 2 guidelines here.

Amy Collyer-Holmes

Amy Collyer-Holmes, a cellist originally from Toronto, has been based in Newfoundland since 2016.   She is the Assistant Director of the Suzuki Talent Education Program, and teaches at Strong Harbour Strings.  You can catch Amy on stage with the Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra, The Harbourlight Piano Quartet, and around town with Maria Chewick and Carole Bestvater performing as the folk trio Lady Lupin.  Many thanks to Maria, Carole, and many others for teaching and encouraging trad tunes on the cello!
