Becca Sharr, Michael Johnson, and Tama Fost are three quarters of the Program Facilitator Team at First Light St. John’s Friendship Centre. Together, they have been working at the Centre for over a combined total of fourteen years.
This First Nations and Inuk team strives to enrich the lives of the urban community, both Indigenous and non-Indigenous alike. The team provides community programming including: Parent Child Mother Goose, junior and senior youth groups, Men’s/non-binary/gender non-conforming Group and Drumming, First Nations as well as Inuit drumming, Inuit-specific cultural activities for families, cultural presentations for school-aged children, and more.
While honoring the traditions from their Indigenous backgrounds, the Team is dedicated to the common goal of supporting and celebrating the vibrant cultures of the many Indigenous groups living in the St. John’s area.
