Lady Lupin

Newfoundland’s newest all-woman trio, Lady Lupin, is Maria Cherwick, Carole Bestvater, and Amy Collyer-Holmes. The trio formed as a vehicle to perform music they love, sing beautiful harmonies, and try new things!

Maria Cherwick chose to make St. John’s her home 4 years ago and has never looked back! You can usually find her living her best life performing with one of her many bands (Kubasonics, Old Contemporaries, Flower Hill, Double Denim, to name a few!) or with the Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra.

Carole Bestvater strives to share her joy of music with those around her. She is equally at home in classical and folk genres, maintaining a full schedule as a performer and educator. Carole is the founder of Strong Harbour Strings, and can also be seen performing with the Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra, Youngtree and the Blooms, High and Lonesome, and many more!

Amy Collyer-Holmes, a cellist originally from Toronto, has been based in Newfoundland since 2016. Though Lady Lupin sees her playing guitar and exploring new styles, Amy also performs with the Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra, maintains a growing cello studio, and is a serious plant mom.
