Morgan Davis has made his living playing the blues across Canada, Europe and the U.S. for 48 years. Originally from Detroit, his career began in Toronto, where he played in bands for the first 25 years. Shortly before his move to the Maritimes in 2000, Davis began to tour and perform solo, playing traditional blues as well as original material. He won the JUNO in 2004 for Blues Album of the Year.
Over the years, he has shared the stage with Sunnyland Slim, Snooky Pryor, Hubert Sumlin, James Cotton, Elvin Bishop, David Wilcox, Colin Linden, Dr. John, and many more.
Performing on electric guitars and 3 string cigar-box guitar, his approach to the blues is tempered with a good dose of humour, and Davis expects to be on the road for the rest of his life.
