Neil Rosenberg

Neil Rosenberg has been playing the banjo 61 years. A founding member of Crooked Stovepipe (1973) he also plays with The Black Auks and in several other local groups with fiddler Terri Thomson. He’s the only Canadian inductee in the International Bluegrass Music Association’s Hall of Fame, Newfoundland’s only Grammy winner, and Tom Power’s banjo teacher. His award-winning books include Bluegrass: A History and Bluegrass Generation; these days he writes a column, “Bluegrass Memoirs” for the roots music website
