In 1968, four young Irish emigrants (lead by Ralph O’Brien) formed a musical group called the “Sons of Erin”. 50 years later, Ralph is still leading the band with the same brand of Irish traditional music with 9 albums to their credit. Over the years band alumni have gone on to form other traditional groups such as “Ryan’s Fancy” and the “Irish Descendants”. The band has toured throughout North America and Ireland, hosted its own TV show (NTV), and has been featured on CBC Television Programs such as “A Time for St. Patrick” and “East of Canada”. CBC is currently shooting a TV Program on the band’s 50th anniversary to air in September 2018 and the band will be performing a 50th Anniversary Concert at the Arts and Culture Centre (St. John’s) on September 20, 2018.
