Website

Scottish Country Dance is a traditional form of social dancing, related to English, Irish, Newfoundland, Contra and Square dancing. Led by Kathy Simonsen and accompanied by local band, Corryvreckan, the workshop will introduce dancers to three or four very easy dances. Most of the dances will be “round the room” in style and will include some of the most common and basic formations that make up Scottish Country Dances all of which will be walked through before being danced. Scottish Country Dancing is suitable for all ages and most levels of fitness. Because of its relationship to other traditional dance forms, participants may find connections with other types of dancing.
