With their incredible musicianship, humor and energy, we are pleased to welcome them back to the Folk Night stage with special guest, multi- instrumentalist Jason Whelan.
Rare stuff here folks.
The Sizzle Sisters
Fiddlers Chantelle Jubenville and Carole Bestvater showed up on the St. John’s music scene a number of years ago, and were dubbed the Sizzle Sisters because of their high energy and enthusiasm for music. They are two joyous fiddlers, bound to leave you smiling with your toes tapping.
Chantelle hails from Southern Ontario. She moved to Newfoundland to pursue a music degree at Memorial University. Whilst attending classical music courses by day, she also attended many traditional music sessions by night, and has since learned a slew of tunes and is delighted to share them with you! In addition to playing music, Chantelle also loves teaching, both as a private music instructor and in the public school education system.
Carole, originally from Saskatchewan, has lived in St. John’s since 2011 when she moved here to attend MUN. You can find Carole playing many different genres in many different contexts. Whether it’s folk or classical music, she loves to play her fiddle more than anything. Carole also teaches privately and runs the Strong Harbour Strings program, trying to make the world a better place by spreading the joy of music to younger generations.
