We are pleased to be offering our Young Folk at the Hall program in Twillingate from March 21st to 24th! This program was started by Fergus O’ Byrne to provide an opportunity for young musicians to meet and share in the fun of playing music together and it has been an invaluable part of the cultural development of young artists over the last 20 plus years.

Back by popular demand, it’s Song’s & Yarns! We are bringing the ARTS back to the Newfoundland & Labrador Folk Arts Society with a good ol’ knitters night out the FIRST TUESDAY of every month, starting February 6th. From 7-9pm at Bannerman Brewing (upstairs!) join us for crafts with music by The Salt Beef Junkies. Knitting legend Shirley Anne Scott will be present to help you out and provide tips for any new knitters, and feel free to bring along whatever crafty project you are working on as you sip and chat! Cover fee is $10

We’ve got a extra special folk’d up Folk Night for you here, folks! One of the most innovative acts to ever emerge from Newfoundland & Labrador, it’s Ouroboros!

This folk-funk-jazz band brings together infectious dance rhythms from around the world using the raw energy of saxes, vocals, and drums that will be sure to have you grooving!

Fresh off the CFMA stage as a host, the Dardanelle member and uber-talented musician Emilia Bartellas is taking her fiddle down to The Ship to lead our end-of-the-month session!

We are honoured to be hosting the FIRST NIGHT of the Canadian Folk Music Awards here in St. John’s from April 3rd-7th. Join us at The Ship on April 3rd to celebrate the commencement of a week of some of Canada’s finest Folk with some local talents and our friends from the CFMA’s!

With phenomenal Jazz and Traditional intersections from Duane Andrews & the Hot Club of Conception Bay and upbeat Newfoundland songs from Kitchinparti, the music for this Folk-packed night is going to be top-tier!

Music starts at 9pm and there will be a $20 cover charge at the door.
