Man, what a fine folk duo here tonight! Last time they played it was one of the finest sets of classic tunes, original numbers, first class musicianship and the vibe was all fun and genuine love of music was front and center. Just brilliant really.

Yesss by. It’s the fastest growing spring tradition in these parts, squuezin’ because it’s International Accordion Day (week, month, whatever) and freezin’ because it’s spring here in Newfoundland and somehow, it’s colder that mid winter for some reason. There ya go.

So, it’s a stacked open mike style accordion fest with invited guests (get at me if ya want’s an invite, haha) to celebrate the contraption we know as the accordion in all it’s variations and lovable squeezability. Better come early if ya want’s a seat, the place will be blocked…with accordion players probably…

Lineup will be added as they files in..stay tuned…

Yessir, another session! Hosted by the the violin femme herself, Maria Cherwick.

See, this is what the faeries are listening to in the kitchen around the green table as they’re havin’ a small feed, and they hear you come traipsin’ across the bog all half cut and makin’ a racket and if they have to turn it off and go sort you out, it’s gonna be nasty.

Truly excellent and original Newfoundland trad from the dark side. Deadly stuff.

Sure if this was ’73 they’d be at the Opry…come out for some bluegrassy, country haromonizing with these three gems.

Songwriter double bill!

One set each, Selina kicks it off at 9 with her brand of acoustic folk and Claire will take it out on the bluesier side of things.

April 12, at 9 pm, come celebrate with us the upcoming summer days with francophone music! The Folk Night at the Ship will become the “Folk Soirée en français”. Come and enjoy the performances of French-speaking artists such as Adrian House and the House Band and Soup du Jour.

We like to end off each month with a few tunes around the table for a casual evening of music. Each evening has a designated host and all tune players are welcome to join regardless of skill level, so feel free to sit in and learn a few if you like.
