Come on out for a night of music and art from local 2SLGBTQIA+ artists! Featuring some of St. John’s finest, this show covers a spectrum of folk styles. Expect contemporary folk stylings from Adrian House and Dan Trouble. For a current yet traditional sound, Than Brown, Maria Cherwick, and Tamsyn Russell have joined forces. Zay Nova rounds out the lineup with his country sound. Stretch your legs during the break to get a drink and check out local art on display. This is the Newfoundland and Labrador Folk Arts Society’s first show with the FolQ Fund for promoting 2SLGBTQIA+ artists, so you can be sure it will be a special night. The show will be held at the one and only LSPU hall on November 4, at 7:30pm. You won’t want to miss Local FolQ!

Come all ye and I’ll spin a yarn…On Tuesday, September 19th, seven of Canada’s finest folk musicians will join forces for a very special concert, weaving together story songs and tunes from home and away. The show will spotlight beloved local legends Matthew Byrne, Jean Hewson, Christina Smith, Gerry Strong, Billy Sutton and Jason Whelan as well as Cambridge, Ontario’s Allison Lupton. The concert will also include the debut of “Step Up Molly”, a song by Lupton about the young women who were recruited from Newfoundland to work in the Dominion Woollens Mill in Cambridge, ON during WWII.  The show will be opened by special guest, Charla Woodford. Tickets to attend the event in person have sold out, however, you can purchase live stream tickets below!

Once again, the incredible Daniel Champagne charts a path to St. John’s!

A gifted songwriter and an astonishing guitarist, Daniel’s concerts are a celebration of fearlessness and possibility, and marked by a true generosity of spirit. It is a rare artist who leaves his guitar on stage for anyone to play after the show while he hangs with the fans but, as he says…

“If I haven’t broken it, you probably won’t!”

Please note, this is a “do not miss” concert in every sense of the word and we’ve capped the venue at a 350 capacity to allow the best possible experience for everyone.

Consider yourself invited!
