We are wrapping up the 2023 Folk Night season with a session hosted by our very own button and bow aficionado’s, Tamsyn Russell & Rosemary Lawton! Join us for some tunes and good times before the holidays!

As always, Folk Night starts at 9pm with a $5 cover fee for sessions.

Presented by the Newfoundland & Labrador Folk Arts Society, Folk Night at the Ship is St. John’s longest continually running live music event (it started in 1974!) and regularly draws a sizeable crowd each Wednesday night; sometimes 100 souls and rarely less than 50. The music ranges from solo songwriters, traditional Newfoundland, blues, klezmer and all styles in between.

La NL Folk Arts Society et le Réseau culturel francophone de TNL présentent :Nuit francophone en direct avec Laura Penney (1e partie) et Fred et les Clous Tordus (2e partie)

See ya at next weeks session with the mighty Carole p’raps.

We will have this first rate folk and trad duo singin’, pickin, and grinnin’ their way through two sets of as fine a pub show as you will find anywhere.

Man, the last time we had this trio it was truly off the charts. Traditional Chinese classical music with a heavy backup of electric guitar and drums. Truly an awesome display of fire and skill.

Presented with kind assistance from our friends at Tombolo!

We like to end off each month with a few tunes around the table for a casual evening of music. Each evening has a designated host and all tune players are welcome to join regardless of skill level, so feel free to sit in and learn a few if you like.

Eclectic and original with a real deal trad vibe, this is an excellent band to catch if you can.

Whoa. Doug is hands down one of the finest fiddlers to ever bend a bow around here. Doug will be joined by Andrew Dale so this is truly a special evening in the works here.

Hey seriously. Don’t sleep on this one.

You’ve had a grand year Folk Night. Take a break and the best of the season to you and yours, the grand staff at the Ship, the Folk Night crew and our loyal and lovely audience.

But in the meantime….BRAGGAROO 3 will be rocking the Ship and while it is sold out, you can make a donation at the link below to lend a hand to one of St. John’s finest and fiercest creatives. Heck, you could probably hang out in Solomons Lane and have a great evening of it sure.

Rock on Bragg!
