Eclectic and original with a real deal trad vibe, this is an excellent band to catch if you can.
Man, the last time we had this trio it was truly off the charts. Traditional Chinese classical music with a heavy backup of electric guitar and drums. Truly an awesome display of fire and skill.
Presented with kind assistance from our friends at Tombolo!

Presented by the Newfoundland & Labrador Folk Arts Society, Folk Night at the Ship is St. John’s longest continually running live music event (it started in 1974!) and regularly draws a sizeable crowd each Wednesday night; sometimes 100 souls and rarely less than 50. The music ranges from solo songwriters, traditional Newfoundland, blues, klezmer and all styles in between.
A rare one here folks. Tell the blues fans and come early for a seat!
Whoa. Doug is hands down one of the finest fiddlers to ever bend a bow around here. Doug will be joined by Andrew Dale so this is truly a special evening in the works here.
Hey seriously. Don’t sleep on this one.
He’s baaaaack! Dealin’ out the trad songs and tunes on tenor banjo, guitar and accordion! We are more than pleased to have Allan back on the Rock and hosting Folk Night once again!
