15 years of Southern Shore folk has brought his music to the darker side of folklore and general society – turmoil, humor, despair, and oddities past and present. Kyle has built up a repertoire of original and traditional music; raw, bare bones, downbeat songs and tunes on the 5-string banjo, button accordion, harmonica, and a few homemade contraptions from time to time. Accompanied by Kady Meaney on Guitar, this duo is gonna shake the Folk Night stage with their take on trad.

Sharing the stage tonight we have Dram & A Draw, with original songs crafted in the tradition of Maritime Celtic music, and Lindsay Ferguson, critically acclaimed Canadian Singer-songwriter with a unique style of  folk meets pops meets country. The energy will be incredible, folks!

Len O’Neill, a singer-songwriter from St. John’s, Newfoundland, has gone from gigging in the local pub scene to releasing his solo album “Out Of View” in the spring of 2024. Influenced by a diverse range of artists spanning classic rock legends to poetic songwriters, Len crafts introspective, lyric-driven compositions exploring themes of ambition, sorrow, and personal growth. This local artist is really on the go right now, so we’d recommend getting a seat early enough to catch this Folk Night performance!

Kelsey Arsenault  is a singer-songwriter and certified music therapist. From the small town of Ferryland at the edge of the ocean, she grew up steeped in stories and songs. For the last number of years, she has been crafting a songbook of original music; sketching scenes of contentment, indecision, love, and overcast weather. Kelsey’s output is carved both by the waves of contemporary pop harmony, and tides of Newfoundland folk. A 2023 MusicNL “Rising Star of the Year” nominee, her debut album “Gallery Walls” was released this past October. She’s the first woman of her hometown to release an album of originals, and she hopes that something in her music connects with something in you. Come hear Kelsey’s music, carved both by the waves of contemporary pop harmony, and tides of Newfoundland folk!

The Verdin Brothers is a collaborative project between multi-instrumentalists Peter and Mark Verdin that has transmuted traditional into experimental, tracking the crooked byroads of folk and lingering in its dark pockets and eerie configurations. Building from a foundation of steel-string guitar and upright bass, they play deranged instrumental folk music that blends elements of American Primitive guitar, traditional string band, and musique concrète. With unique instrumentation and a keen ear for melody, The Verdin Brothers’ music will have you hypnotized!

The dynamic and diverse music of award-winning singer-songwriter Chris Picco will be joined by the talents of Josh Bourden for this Folk Night! Do your ears a favour and don’t miss this collab!
