Emmajane is a multi-instrumental singer-songwriter who writes songs from the heart. A gifted vocalist, Emmajane plays guitar, mandolin and ukulele, and enjoys exploring music in the folk and pop genres. She has appeared in local theatre productions including Sidewalk Dandelion (Shallaway/Kyle McDavid) and I Forgive You (Artistic Fraud). Emmajane has performed on the Neil Murray Stage at the NL Folk Festival, the City Concert Series at Harbourside Park and the Newfound Talent Contest as well as singing as part of the Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra’s Big Ticket concert. She also performed during the “Youth Market” at the Farmer’s Market, and opened for Baraka and Drives the Common Man at “Songs & Stories for Youth” at the First Light Centre.
Charla Woodford is a 15-year-old singer from Torbay. From a very young age, Charla showed a passion for music and has since performed on various stages including the Burin Peninsula Folk Festival, City Youth Talent Show, Traditional Coffee House Open Mic Night, Young Folk at the Hall as well as competed in the Newfound Talent Contest. Charla has been performing at The Once Christmas Shows since she was 5 years old and in December 2022 she had the honor of sharing the stage with The Ennis Sisters.
During Covid, Charla formed a ukelele group for youth where she gave lessons and directed 2 annual ukelele concerts for family and friends. She has been a member of the Shallaway Youth Choir for the past 3 years and plays guitar, ukelele and piano.
Cassandra Ingram is a young performer who has many passions in life. She has been dancing since she was 3 years old, has taken acting classes and performed in shows, and in the past few years has discovered a love for music. Cassandra is a vocalist who has performed with Shallaway as well as various school bands. She has taken part in two Young Folk at the Hall sessions and is ready for more. Bring on the music.
Brett Crane is a musician from St. Philip’s who enjoys playing guitar and singing and is always looking for opportunities to perform. Brett performs regularly at church, at school and at open mic events around the city including the NL Folk Festival at Bannerman Park, Young Folk at the Hall with Fergus O’Byrne, the CBS Winter Carnival, the Up and Comers concert series, the City of St. John’s Concert Series and he regularly volunteers his time to perform for a seniors group during the summer months on Bell Island.
Allison is a young guitarist, pianist, and singer/songwriter who has performed at concerts presented by the NL Folk Arts Society, City of St. John’s, Tombolo Festival and numerous Christmas shows including the Holiday Wassail and Bowring Park Tree Lighting Ceremony.
