The Newfoundland & Labrador Folk Arts Society is BEYOND excited to be presenting Equinor’s Newfound Talent Contest Finale at the Majestic Theatre in St. John’s on June 27th, 2024. Doors open at 6:30pm and the show starts at 7:00pm. This event will have FREE ADMISSION, so we invite you all to come and celebrate the massive amount of young talent our province holds! A traditional session for women, non-binary, and gender-diverse folks! This session was created with the intention of building capacity within the community for more women and gender-diverse folk to participate and find their place within our rich traditional music scene! Folks of all genders are welcome to hang out, listen in, and support.

With vocals smooth and haunting, Music NL’s 2021 Pop Artist of The Year Nominee Jayne Batstone will be live on The Broadside, performing some of her own music. Her work is authentic and heartfelt, perfect for a cozy listen-in at home!
Kelsey Arsenault is a singer-songwriter and certified music therapist. From the small town of Ferryland at the edge of the ocean, she grew up steeped in stories and songs. For the last number of years, she has been crafting a songbook of original music; sketching scenes of contentment, indecision, love, and overcast weather. Kelsey’s output is carved both by the waves of contemporary pop harmony, and tides of Newfoundland folk. A 2023 MusicNL “Rising Star of the Year” nominee, her debut album “Gallery Walls” was released this past October. She’s the first woman of her hometown to release an album of originals, and she hopes that something in her music connects with something in you. Come hear Kelsey’s music, carved both by the waves of contemporary pop harmony, and tides of Newfoundland folk!
