Saturday Night Folk Festival after show featuring a secret lineup!
Lurching out of April and into what passes for Spring around these parts, we are getting right in the mood for a few tunes. Just as well say it. The Festival launch is around the corner as is next weeks accordionaplaooza event that we do for International Accordion Day (yes, that’s a thing), so anyways…
Yeah tunes. Brad and Darren, Klucowicz and Browne, Buddy and Boobie. Whatever you wanna call them, they are fine fellows, stalwart session players and a couple of dab hands at the tunes.
So, join us for a few tunes why don’t ya.

Ol Billy Bob Boy and his bull fiddle makes the Folk Night debut! Come on out and stomp along!
Man, what a fine folk duo here tonight! Last time they played it was one of the finest sets of classic tunes, original numbers, first class musicianship and the vibe was all fun and genuine love of music was front and center. Just brilliant really.
As guitarists, we all aspire to carve out our own sound, to sound like ourselves and no one else. To not sound like our influences, or other guitarists. To pick up your guitar and have people know it’s you playing just by the sound.
Well, Gordon probably didn’t worry about that much. He probably just wanted to play guitar, and he still does.
But he always only ever sounded just like himself anyway.
See, this is what the faeries are listening to in the kitchen around the green table as they’re havin’ a small feed, and they hear you come traipsin’ across the bog all half cut and makin’ a racket and if they have to turn it off and go sort you out, it’s gonna be nasty.
Truly excellent and original Newfoundland trad from the dark side. Deadly stuff.
We won’t keep you out too late this week folks! JCs got strep and tonsils the size of cannonballs (to be featured on another show perhaps), Gracie steps back in the hosting chair (Yay!), Julie will have the events and swag and for real entertainment we’ll have a couple extra clips from last week for those who didn’t get enough of Gordons guitar (we know you’re out there) and some yarn from Dave Paddon, specifically how to go about doctorin’ when there is nar doctor to be had. Timely that one.
All that and a puncheon of penicillin.
Yessir, another session! Hosted by the the violin femme herself, Maria Cherwick.
