We are honoured to be hosting the FIRST NIGHT of the Canadian Folk Music Awards here in St. John’s from April 3rd-7th. Join us at The Ship on April 3rd to celebrate the commencement of a week of some of Canada’s finest Folk with some local talents and our friends from the CFMA’s!

With phenomenal Jazz and Traditional intersections from Duane Andrews & the Hot Club of Conception Bay and upbeat Newfoundland songs from Kitchinparti, the music for this Folk-packed night is going to be top-tier!

Music starts at 9pm and there will be a $20 cover charge at the door.

Fresh off the CFMA stage as a host, the Dardanelle member and uber-talented musician Emilia Bartellas is taking her fiddle down to The Ship to lead our end-of-the-month session!

Jess has developed a style that is easy listening, while tackling big ideas and challenging norms.Tune into The Broadside to hear her quirky, heartfelt songs cover everything from her struggles with mental health to the disappearance of the Canadian penny.

19-year-old Paige Penney’s natural musical ability has captivated and stolen audience’s hearts from the Newfoundland and Labrador Folk Festival stage all the way to the Smoky Mountain Songwriters Festival in Gatlinburg Tennessee. Enjoy her original music and talent THIS MONDAY on The Broadside.

We are pleased to be offering a FREE fiddle workshop to be offered by the incredible Emilia Bartellas of the Dardanelles! This workshop is open to anyone under 19 who has a few tunes under their belt already. In this workshop, Emilia will be teaching a new tune, working on bow techniques, and discussing ornamentation. You don’t want to miss this one!
