We are pleased to resume our usual Young Folk at the Hall program for 2023!
This program was started by Fergus O’ Byrne to provide an opportunity for young musicians to meet and share in the fun of playing music together and it has been an invaluable part of the cultural development of young artists over the last 20 plus years.
At the initial workshop/meeting musicians will be divided into groups of five or six musicians with a broad range of ages and musical ability within their group. Each group will then work for the afternoon with a facilitator who will help guide the group through the selection of common repertoire (4 pieces maximum – songs and/or instrumentals), and the arrangement of those pieces. Plus, a band name will be decided on and band photos taken!
