Newfoundland & Labrador Folk Festival Volunteer and Sponsorship Coordinator

The NLFAS is hiring a Volunteer and Sponsorship Coordinator for the 2018 Newfoundland & Labrador Folk Festival. The Volunteer and Sponsorship Coordinator will work closely with the Event Coordinator, Festival Coordinator and Marketing Coordinator, and the Society’s staff and Board Members to ensure coordinated efforts on behalf of the Society in the planning, administration, and implementation of the Annual NL Folk Festival. Tasks include Volunteer recruitment, training and management, and maintaining relationships with sponsors to ensure all items within sponsorship agreements are met. The position is for 35 hours a week, for a total of seven weeks, beginning on June 27th, 2018.

This is in coordination with the Canada Summer Jobs program. Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • is between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment;
  • was registered as a full-time student during the preceding academic year;
  • intends to return to school on a full-time basis during the next academic year;
  • is a student in a secondary, post-secondary, CEGEP (Quebec only), vocational or technical program;
  • is a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act; and
  • is legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial/territorial legislation and regulations.
